The AUD is the abbreviation for Australian Dollar which is the official currency of Australia. Moreover it also circulates in Christmas Island, Cocos Islands, Norfolk Island, Nauru, Tuvalu, and Kiribati. It was established in 1966 and its symbol can be the same as the US dollar ($) or A$ to differentiate these two currencies. The Australlian dollar is subdivided into 100 cents and is presented in the form of banknotes of 5, 10, 20, 50, 100 dollars as well as coins 5,10,20, 50 cents and 1, 2 dollars.
